Unpacking Inequity In Theatre Production Processes, Through Political Dramaturgy
10:15am to noon; Vertigo Playhouse
part of PACTCON 2016
CCEDA is proud to present a staged reading of Give It Up by Donna-Michelle St. Bernard, which is part of her 54ology Project and represents Angola. In this daring work, two young girl soldiers engaged in civil resistance are imprisoned together in a military camp. Their already strained relationship simmers under the pressure of uncertainty, fear and interrogation.
The reading will be followed by a dramaturgical session that unpacks the layers of potential inequity arising out of the intercultural production team's different world views.
Session attendees will be given reflexive prompts to consider, as we invite you to be active witnesses to a unique approach to equity in practice through political dramaturgy.
