CCEDA is hosting a collaborative event with Equity in Theatre that YOU are invited to:
Launch Party for Canadian Theatre Review's equity in theatre issue!
Thursday, February 11
7:30PM - 9:00PM
Matthews Theatre (Craigie Hall F101),
University of Calgary
Equity in Theatre launched in 2014 to respond to the enduring and urgent question of women’s disappearance from professional Canadian stages. In the February 2016 issue of Canadian Theatre Review, contributors seek to increase visibility around existent industry barriers while positing possible solutions to help affect positive change. Two of CCEDA's founding members have published articles in this issue (Mieko Ouchi and Michele Decottignies) and Calgary's own Urban Curvz has been profiled!
Please join us in celebrating the contributions of Calgary artists to this important issue of Canadian Theatre Review, on gender equity in Canadian theatre.
Our local launch party includes:
A panel moderated by Alyssa Bradac, featuring: Michele Decottignies (Stage Left Productions),
Cheryl Foggo (Ellipsis Tree Collective & U of C), Kate Newby (Urban Curvz), Patti Pon (CADA), and Jenna Rodgers (Chromatic Theatre) discussing women-centric and feminist contributions to theatre in Calgary made by diverse women artists.
Followed by a short performance created by UC Drama students Keshia Cheesman and Bianca Miranda.
Snacks and refreshments available.
FREE ADMISSION
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE
Please contact us, at [email protected], to request other accommodation(s).
CCEDA thanks The School of Creative and Performing Arts for co-hosting this special event.
